So it starts! This is the first formal post of the blog, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
Tour de Beer is all about travelling to pubs, exclusively by bicycle, and reviewing them. We sample their finest portion of chips and a 1/2 pint of beer each and then make notes on the chips, beer, and pub overall and upload the info to Tour de Beer. The feature image of this post, shown above, is from the trip to The New Inn, Broadclyst. You can find the review of The New Inn on the map, link attached below!

I am not sure when this idea started exactly, but it started recently. I was inspired by wild swimmer Chris Popham to start a map on Google My Maps for all the wild swimming locations that I go to with friends and family. Creating that map got me thinking about what other maps I could create. I like the idea of exploring, and I really like proper documentation so that I don’t lose information and so that I can share it. I have now created a swimming map, pub+cycling map, and a castles map too! I will make posts about the others soon.
The map currently has four pub reviews that are relatively fledged. However, I’ve realised this isn’t the ideal way to run the map. Instead, I will add a short, concise review to each pub on the map and then write up a proper post on the blog for further reading. I will include links to the blog post on the map.
Hopes? I suppose I look forward to testing more and more pubs, and perhaps other cyclists using it to guide their way through Cornwall / Devon / beyond via pubs.
Cheers!
